The MLM Watchdog reports that Watkins, one of the oldest network marketing companies in existence, has struck a deal with WalMart to retail Watkins products in the ubiquitous big box stores. As MLMWatchDog points out this strategy has usually hurt distributors and the company.
Pre-Paid Weathers Guilty Verdict
Pre-Paid Weathers Guilty Verdict from The Street has a negative report on PPL.
But MLMWatchdog has another, positive view, of the court case.

"Global Domains International AKA WebSite.ws
A gentleman recently visited my Best-MLM-Opportunities site. He complimented me on the site and asked to exchange links with his web page promoting WebSite.ws from Global Domains International.
Here is my reply:
--
Dear Jonathan (not his real name),
Thank you for the kind words.
It's a nicely done video and site. It's got all the right
psychological triggers to prompt people to sign up for the free trial.
But it will be very hard to make money with this program. I will tell
you why in a moment but please keep in mind that I am being honest and
direct with you because I don't want you "learn the hard way" like I
did.
I joined programs like WebSite.ws and devoted much time and energy to
them, only to realize in the end that I spent more money than I
earned.
Here are the problems:
You can buy a .ws domain for $9.95 per year at http://www.godaddy.com/ , so
the promise of one's own domain name for $120 per year will be hard to
sell.
Therefore, you are essentially selling a domain plus web site builder.
The sitebuilder is of unknown quality, with an unspecified amount of
space, e.g., number of pages. The lack of specificity is a concern.
But let's assume the specifics will be provided eventually and that
the price of $10 per month is equivalent to other providers (it
probably is).
You are still left with the biggest problem of all: You are competing
in a very saturated market against major players like Yahoo,
Homestead, Microsoft, and Verisign. In addition, many ISP's give their
customers web space, a web site builder, and email accounts for
free--that's hard to compete against.
One could argue that those free ISP accounts are only good for simply
personal sites. I agree. However, the WebSite.ws package is not suited
for business use. It lacks several crucial features needed for a
successful small business web site. Compare it with the best web site
builder for business, SiteBuildIt:
http://buildit.sitesell.com/mdw.html
That's my affiliate link. If you don't want to use it, go to:
http://buildit.sitesell.com/
Jonathan, you have selected the right business model, network
marketing, wherein you can make a lot of money and, like WebSite.ws
says, help other people do it. (By the way, that's a quote from Zig
Ziglar--I hope they credit him somewhere on the site.)
For a succinct, well-written article on how to select a network
marketing company go to:
InsiderReports.com
and search for "Evaluating a Network Marketing Company" (without the quotes) by Carol Woods.
I do not know Ms. Woods and she is not affiliated with my primary
network marketing company.
If after reading Ms. Wood's article you still want to give WebSite.ws
a go, then more power to you. I could be wrong.
On the other hand, if you see the wisdom of what Ms. Wood's has to say
and you want to explore other options, look at some of the companies
on my Best-Mlm-Opportunities site.
If you decide you like the health and wellness industry, I'd be happy
to tell you about my primary company but first I think you need to determine if you really believe you can make money "without selling and without talking with anyone!" as WebSite.ws proclaims.
I only sign up people on my team who understand that network marketing is a business like any other where success is determined by the quality of relationships you develop with customers, team members (downline), vendors, and network marketing colleagues.
Please call or email with any followup questions or suggestions.
All the Best,
Mark
